Join us for an experience like none other.
This is Camp, where memories are made, playing and learning are the same thing, we let loose, get a little dirty, use all our senses, develop our whole mind and experience childhood as it was meant to be!
Let's let our kids slow down and the summer off-screen, outside in nature. We strive to create an atmosphere that harkens back to old school neighbourhoods where kids played outside, with kids, taking risks, experimenting, building, getting dirty, learning about the natural world, connecting with each other, developing social skills and making memories to last a lifetime!

2026
This summer is all about trying new things.
Working Together
and Skill Building
will weave through
everything we plan and do!
This summer we are going OLD SCHOOL!
Offline skills, hands-on learning,
and a whole lot of play
Over the last 2 years we have developed a motto at camp "I am helping my friends." This summer we dive deep into ways we can develop this as a skill.
What does Working Together mean? Collaboration and team-building skills will weave through every week at camp this summer. Our goal is always to model and provide our campers with experiences which allow them to develop their "people skills", whether this means sharing toys, building collaboratively or asking each other for help.
What does Skill Building look like at camp? Campers have the opportunity to choose a challenging new activity to develop skills through our popular"CHOICE" sessions each week . We set goals, learn to use real tools safely and level up as we come back each week! Choice sessions include skills like wood working, sewing, photography, and outdoor fitness activities like orienteering and yoga. This year's swimming instruction will involve some new skill-building aspects. And last but not least, everyday skill building using our brains and hands to solve problems, read, write - the core things we all know we need to practise during the summer! Our campers who are with us for the whole summer will have some opportunities to take part in awesome final projects, displays, entrepreneurial activities and much more! Of course, our skill-building is interest-based and camper-led, so the results will be unpredictably awesome!!
Come play with us!

SWIM Instruction included
Our pool comes alive with the awesome swim instruction from Poseidon Aquatics. Swimming is an essential life skill that allows kids to develop through sensory learning which benefits them in a huge list of other endeavours. And, what is summer without swimming?
Randall from Poseidon Aquatics: I love the water and believe that it can open up an entire new world of exciting life long adventures and offers some of the most therapeutic environments and activities in the world. I strongly believe that swimming classes should be crazy fun but also super informative! I understand that water can be your worst enemy at times, leading us to prioritize safety. Swimming will not only be fun but kids will also have the opportunity to learn water safety, skills that will benefit them, and others as well!
Qualifications: ASA teaching lvl1; STA full teacher lvl2; STA disability lvl1; NARS pool safety and lifeguarding; Roy Collins intro to competitive coaching.
About Wild Acres Camp
Born out of dreams and fairy dust... This camp has been part of the plan for a very long time. Our Camp Director Jenn is a qualified elementary school teacher who has run (really) large outdoor camps in Canada for over 10 years, having done 2 years of homeschooling (thanks COVID) she was just waiting for the right moment (in life and in motherhood) to take the leap and bring the international standard of summer day camping home here to Barbados! Our camp began in the summer of 2023 with a huge BANG! The proof was in the pudding when, after our initial week, parents chose to sign up their campers for the rest of the summer. We are forever grateful to our inaugural group of campers and parents for trusting us, and we are so thrilled to become part of your childhood story as you come back, camp after camp bringing along your little siblings to join in our Mini Wildlings division now too! This year (as our own kids grow) we are also opening a Wilder Kids division for those 7/8-11 years old featuring some skill-specific weeks, leadership roles, and entrepreneurial experiences.
With 2 kids of her own, and a niece and nephew, this camp is designed for the kiddos more than anything else. You can expect your child's needs, development and learning to be at the forefront of our planning and execution along with our own kids! Our activity leaders are teachers, mothers and experts in thier various fields. Along with the camp director the leaders help to mentor our counselors and counselors in training who are youth and young adults, showing exemplary promise in a relevant childcare, specialty or teaching field. Our site, Sion Hill Plantation, also our camp director's home, is ideally suited, with ample outdoor spaces, shady spots and breezes, a play garden, a veggie garden, campfire pit, fields and forests! As well as indoor rooms and patios for all the things we need a little more cover for. But let's not forget the pool! Fenced in, lifeguarded at all times, and an ideal depth and size for budding swimmers and confident little fishes alike.
We are here to have fun, build relationships, learn alongside your kids, get a little bit of paint, mud and glitter on us, and keep our fingers crossed that summer never comes to an end.
See our humble homeschool beginnings here
and our previous summers of adventure!
